Why Do We Pay So Much For Government? Scenario 1: Fireworks.
For your consideration: Why Do We Pay So Much For Government? Scenario 1: Fireworks.
We just got a mailer to buy fireworks today over in Indiana. It’s illegal to have fireworks or light fireworks in Illinois. But obviously it’s not illegal to advertise to Illinoisans for fireworks. Where the heck are we going to take them after we buy them? A park in Indiana, where’s it’s probably illegal to light them OR our homes in Illinois.
THEN I find out that some cops in Illinois just busted some guy for owning like 39K in fireworks and selling them out of his house. It was a sting based off a hot tip.
So, we just paid cops to bust a guy in Illinois for fireworks AND it’s legal for Indianans to advertise to us to go buy fireworks in their state, but it’s illegal for us to own them here?
Why Do We Pay So Much For Government?!
Wouldn’t it save us all money and time if cops weren’t paid to go bust people for laws that should just be universal across states? Giving states the “freedom” to do as they choose with this issue, just creates and environment for more crime to occur — not less. Our government is supposed to protect us, correct? How are we benefiting from this scenario on the Illinois side? All The Money Kings see is tax dollars out the door . . .
Good luck out there.
