Whew! Get Your Gas Now!

Breaking News

For your consideration: Whew! Get Your Gas Now!

If you haven't already heard, oil prices spiked last night. Well, they kind of hit us like a hammer. $10 in one night! That's pretty significant.

The Money Kings tip here is to pay attention to the news reports for certain tidbits like this . . . In general, the damn media is worthless to The Money Kings with is constant bantering about all things insignificant in nature. Hearing about the significance of oil's spike in price last night, however, did wind up saving us a little bit of money today.

Facts:

  1. Gasoline prices have been receding a bit all week.
  2. $10 added to the price of crude, however, means that we should all go fill up before the trickle-down hits the retail market . . . Probably for most of you, it's already hit your locale.
  3. Filling up on a Friday is generally a no-no for The Money Kings, due to demand. Today's action, however, means you have to move.

Gas spikes $10, then more than likely recedes slowly over a week or two. You were looking at $4.00 a gallon one minute, then the next it's $4.35. AND you have to wait 2 weeks for it to recede to $4.00. Might as well fill up now, and drive less to ride it out.

When will this mess end? MoneyKing drives a really fuel efficient vehicle, too. We can't fathom what you Silverado and Tundra drivers are going through.

Good luck out there.

Damn! redbox Scam!

Breaking News

For your consideration: Damn! redbox Scam!

Before we begin:

redbox is NOT scamming you!

Again . . .

redbox is NOT scamming you!

If you don’t know who/what redbox is, Google it and then recognize.

The Money Kings previously endorsed redbox as the best place to rent DVDs.

  • The prices are cheap.
  • Locations are plentiful.
  • Reservations can be booked online.
  • Returns can be made anywhere.

What’s not to like??!!

Well, we’ve just found out what’s not to like. Today one of our crew went to rent Mulberry St., but instead received Bee Movie.

Wha???????????????!!!!!!

Upon receiving the wrong movie from the machine, our crew member immediately called customer support—who were very courteous in issuing a free rental. But . . . After hanging around the machine for a while, our crew member noticed that the same mistake was befalling other unsuspecting redbox customers.

Wha????!!! is going on??!!!

This is when we went to school.

Standing next to the machine was a guy informing all of us that: “They gone git you, man. Be careful. Last week they gave me a P. Diddy CD.”

This gentlemen then informed us of the scam:

Apparently, a$$holes are renting DVD from the redbox machines, removing the stickers from the DVDs and then reattaching them to disks they don’t want before “returning” their fugazis. Know what we mean?

Starbucks Baristas Get Money From The Courts. Why Are We Tipping Them Anyway?

Breaking News

For your consideration: Starbucks Baristas Get Money From The Courts. Why Are We Tipping Them Anyway?

The Money Kings don't really know where to start with this one.

The supposed breaking news is that baristas of the world have finally been able to deal the horrible, monolithic, uber-coffee giant Starbucks a $100 million blow.

Good for them--we guess.

It seems that Starbucks had a company policy that mandated that shift supervisors and managers get a piece of whatever tips baristas garnered from that little tip box up near the register at every Starbucks on the planet.

Apparently, there's a law against this type of activity.

The breaking news for The Money Kings, however, is that no one seems to be questioning why people give baristas tips anyway. We remember vividly when Starbucks first hit the scene in our area. There were no tip boxes in the stores. Then after about 2 years, the tip boxes showed up and people really started putting their spare change into them.

Why????!!!

  1. Real Money Kings charge their $4 lattes so they can get points back on their credit cards--so there is no loose change.
  2. Who ever said you had to tip a barista anyway?

Do you tip the guy at McDonald's that puts together your hamburger? Would you tip him if McDonald's decided to call him a "burgreasta"? That's right bur-grease-sta.

Look it up in the Urban Dictionary , if you don't believe us.
